I have posted these links before but just wanted to remind you all of ways you can help your child from home.

OxfordOwl -  Oxford Owl is an award-winning free website with 250 FREE tablet-friendly eBooks and activities to help you support children’s learning. Now it is even better, with dedicated areas for school and for home.

teachyourmonstertoread - Teach your Monster to Read is a series of free games to practise the first stages of reading.

Alphablocks - The Alphablocks are 26 living letters who discover that when they hold hands and make a word, it comes to life. Their fun-filled adventures and songs help young children learn to read. Everything in ‘Alphablocks’ is based on best-practice phonics, as taught in schools. The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Not only have we been working on a Jack & the Beanstalk display in P1 but we have also started creating a new display based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Last week we read the book to remind us of the days of the week. In group time the children sequenced the story in the correct order and today started work on the display.
